Islamabad Medical & Dental College Admission 2023-24 [IMDC Islamabad]

Islamabad Medical & Dental College was established in 2007 and affiliated with Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University. This medical and dental college is recognized by both the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) and the Ministry of Health.

Initially, Islamabad Medical and dental was attached to 3 hospitals, Social Security Hospital, Ahmed Medical Complex, and St Joseph’s Hospice, Rawalpindi. Recently it is attached with its own hospital of 500 beds namely Dr.Akber Niazi Teaching Hospital.

Dr.Akber Niazi Teaching Hospital offers services in various medical and surgical specialties including cardiology, dermatology, nephrology, psychiatry, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, neurosurgery, others with OPD and executive clinics. The hospital also offers training programs in medicine.

Islamabad Medical and Dental College is recognized for MBBS, BDS, 4 Years BSN, Post RN-BSN, BS-MLT, DPT, and Post-graduate programs in six disciplines of Dentistry. The Department of Physiology is recognized for FCPS Part-II training by the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

IMDC Eligibility Criteria for Different Programs:

Any student seeking admission to Islamabad medical and dental college has to pass the MDCAT examination held by Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC). As per PMC, the passing marks for the F.Sc. or equivalent exam and MDCAT examination is 65% respectively.

For MBBS/BDS:

• HSSC/Equivalent 50%
• MDCAT 50%

Each candidate who will be selected for the interview has to appear in person before the interview panel.

There is a total of 100 seats for MBBS and 50 for BDS which are open to all national and international students with equivalent qualifications, subject to admission regulations.

For Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT):

The applicant must secure 60% marks in pre-medical and have to clear the entry test conducted by SZABMU. There is no age limit for the DPT program.

For BS-Medical Laboratory Technology (BS-MLT:

The applicant must secure 50% marks in pre-medical and have to clear the entry test conducted by SZABMU. There is no age limit for the DPT program.

For BSN Program (4 years):

• Matric Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology as compulsory subjects)
• FSc (Pre-Medical) with 50% marks minimum (Physics, Chemistry & Biology as compulsory subjects).
• Age Limit: 14-35 years
• Entry test as per University’s (SZABMU) criteria.
• Gender Ratio: Open merit

For Post RN-BSN (2 years):

• Matric with Science (Biology, Chemistry & Physics as compulsory subjects)
• FSc (Pre-Medical) with 50% marks minimum (Physics, Chemistry & Biology as compulsory subjects).
• Matric Arts as per HEC Notification No. 8 (61)/A&A/2018/HEC/5998 dt. 06.04.2018.
• Diploma in Nursing
• Diploma in Midwifery (any Post Basic Specialty for males in lieu of midwifery)
• Experience 01 years as RN
• Entry test as per SZABMU criteria.

English Language:

As the medium of language is English, so the knowledge of English is momentary for all the students. The foreign students have to submit some additional certificates like

• Copy of Matric/Senior Cambridge or equivalent certificate
• Copy of F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent certificate
• Detailed marks sheet F.Sc (Pre-Medical)
• 2 recent passport-size colored photographs
• Character certificate from the principal of the last attended institution
