List of the Medical & Dental Colleges in KPK

There are a total of 21 medical and dental colleges in KPK, which are recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. Some new colleges are in the process of recognition, which may join the list by next year or sooner. Currently, we will only list those KPK Medical Colleges that are recognized by PMDC and are affiliated with any Public/Private Sector University.

The list of recognized medical colleges in KPK includes both public and private sector medical and dental colleges. These colleges are affiliated with different universities, i-e

• Khyber Medical University, Peshawar
• Ghandhara University, Peshawar
• Bahria University, Islamabad
• Ripah International University, Islamabad

Among 21 KPK medical colleges, 10 are public sector and 11 are private sector medical and dental colleges.

List of Medical Colleges in KPK

The colleges are listed in Alphabetical order; it has nothing to do with their ranking by any parameter.

1. Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad

Ayub Medical College is one of the oldest medical colleges in KPK, established in 1979. It is located on the main Mansehra Road, Abbottabad. It is affiliated with Khyber Medical University, the only Public Sector Medical University in KPK.

As per the latest seat distribution by the KP Govt and PMDC, there are 250 seats allocated to Ayub Medical College.

2. Bacha Khan Medical College, Mardan

Bacha Khan Medical is named after the famous Pashto leader, Bacha Khan. Bacha Khan Medical College was established in 2010. It is located on the main Nowshera-Mardan Road near Sheikh Maltoon town.

Bacha Khan Medical is affiliated with Khyber Medical University. Recently, PMDC has doubled its seat allocation to 100 seats; previously, it was 50 since its establishment.

3. Bannu Medical College, Bannu

Bannu Medical College was established in 2006. It is among many other colleges affiliated with Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. Bannu Medical College is recognized by PMDC.

Bannu Medical College enrolls 100 students in every session as per the seat distribution approved by the KPK Govt and PMDC.

4. Gajju Khan Medical College, Sawabi

Gajju Khan Medical College was established in 2014. It is located in Sawabi District on the main Sawabi-Jehangira road.

As per the latest seat distribution, Gajju Khan Medical College enrolled 55 students every session.

5. Gomal Medical College, D.I.Khan

Gomal Medical College was established in 1998 and is now one of the well-established KPK medical colleges. GMC is in Dera Ismail Khan.

Gomal Medical College enrolled 110 students for the session 2026-26 as per the latest seat distribution provided by the KP government and PMDC.

6. Khyber Medical College, Peshawar

Khyber Medical College is the Pioneer college among all KPK medical colleges. It was established in 1954 and is located inside Peshawar University. KMC admitted 275 students in MBBS for the session 2026-26 as per the KP government. seat distribution.

7. Khyber Girls Medical College, Peshawar

In 2004 separate section for girls of KMC was established, which later in 2005 became an independent college named Khyber Girls Medical College.

Khyber Girls Medical College is the only college among KPK medical colleges to score an A+ in the 2019 inspection of PMDC. KGMC enrolled 150 seats as per the latest seat distribution. It used to be 100 seats for the last few years.

8. KMU Institute of Medical Sciences, Kohat

KMU Institute of Medical Sciences is the only constituent institute of Khyber Medical University that offers MBBS. KIMS was established in 2006, and later shifted to KMU as a constituent institute in 2011. KIMS is in KDA Kohat.

KIMS enrolled 110 students for the session 2026-26 as per the latest seat distribution by the KP government.

9. Nowshera Medical College, Nowshera

Nowshera Medical College is located at the bank of the River Kabul, on the Mardan-Nowshera Road. Nowshera Medical College is among the well-established KPK medical colleges.

NMC enrolled 110 students in MBBS in session 2026-26 as per the seat distribution by the KPK government.

10. Saidu Medical College, Swat

Saidu Medical College is one of the well-known public sector medical colleges in KPK. Saidu Medical College is in Saidu Sharif, District Swat. SMC was established in 1998 with 50 seats allocated, and later increased to 100 seats.

SMC enrolled 110 students in MBBS for the session after the latest seat distribution provided by the KP government and PMDC.

11. Ayub College of Dentistry, Abbottabad

Ayub College of Dentistry is the dental section of Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad. ACD has 25 seats allocated for the last couple of years, but this year Pakistan Medical Commission has doubled its seats.

ACD enrolled 50 students for session 2026-26 as per the latest seat distribution provided by the KPK government and PMDC.

12. Bacha Khan Dental College, Mardan

Bacha Khan Dental College is the dentistry part of Bacha Khan Medical College, located on the main Nowshera-Mardan Road near Sheikh Maltoon Town, Mardan.

BKCD enrolled 50 students after doubling its seats in session 2026-26 admissions to adjust the FATA students of doubled quota.

13. Khyber College of Dentistry, Peshawar

Khyber College of Dentistry is one of the oldest and well-established dental colleges among all KPK medical and dental colleges. KCD resides at Peshawar University. It is the dentistry part of Khyber Medical College.

KCD enrolled 100 students for session 2026-26 as per the latest distribution by the KPK government and PMDC.

14. KMU Institute of Dental Sciences, Kohat

KMU Institute of Dental Sciences is a constituent institute of Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. It is now a well-established dental college of KPK.

KIDS enrolled 50 students for the session 2026-26.

List of Private Medical Colleges in KPK

There are currently 16 private medical colleges in KPK recognized by PMDC. These numbers include both medical and dental colleges of KPK.

1. Abbottabad International Medical College, Abbottabad

Abbottabad International Medical College is located mainly on Mansehra Road, Abbottabad. AIMC is affiliated with Khyber Medical University, KMU.

AIMC is eligible to enroll 100 students in MBBS every year.

2. Frontier Medical College, Abbottabad

Frontier Medical College is located on Mansehra Road, Abbottabad. It is one of the oldest private medical colleges in KPK. It is affiliated with Bahria University Islamabad. FMC is eligible to enroll 100 students in MBBS every year as per the PMDC allocation.

3. Kabir Medical College, Peshawar

Kabir is the pioneer private medical college in KPK, established in 1995. It is located on Canal Road, University Town, Peshawar. Kabir Medical College is affiliated with Ghandara University, Peshawar.

Kabir Medical College is registered with PMDC for 100 MBBS seats.

4. Muhammad College of Medicine, Peshawar (Old AL Razi Medical College)

Muhammad College of Medicine, previously known as Al-Razi Medical College, is located on Budhni Road, Yaseen Abad, Peshawar. MCM is affiliated with Khyber Medical University. MCM is registered with PMDC and allowed to enroll 100 students in MBBS every year.

5. North West School of Medicine, Peshawar

North West School of Medicine is among the newly started colleges. It is in Phase 5, Hayatabad, Peshawar. NWSM is affiliated with Khyber Medical University, Peshawar.

NWSM is registered with PMDC and is allocated 100 seats of MBBS for every session.

6. Pak International Medical College, Peshawar

Pak International Medical College is in Phase 5, Hayatabad, Peshawar. It is registered with PMDC and affiliated with Khyber Medical University. PIMC can enroll 100 students in MBBS every year.

7. Peshawar Medical College, Peshawar

Peshawar Medical College is one of the best Private Medical colleges in KPK. Peshawar Medical College is affiliated with Ripah University, Islamabad. Peshawar Medical College enrolls 150 students in MBBS every year.

8. Rehman Medical College, Peshawar

Rehman Medical College, Peshawar

Rehman Medical College is in Phase 5, Hayatabad, Peshawar. Rehman is among the best Private medical colleges in KPK. RMC is registered with the Pakistan Medical Commission and affiliated with KMU.

9. Swat Medical College, Swat

Swat Medical College, recently recognized by PMDC, started its admission from the 2019 batch. SMC is located on Marghuzar Road, Swat. Initially, SMC was allowed to admit only 50 students; later on, the number was increased to 100 per year.

Swat Medical College is affiliated with Khyber Medical University.

10. Women’s Medical College, Abbottabad

Women’s Medical College is the only women’s college in KPK for MBBS. WMC is located on Murree Road, Abbottabad. It is recognized by PMDC for 100 MBBS seats and is affiliated with Khyber Medical University.

11. Abbottabad International Medical College, Dental Section, Abbottabad

Abbottabad International College of Dentistry is dental section of AIMC. It is recognized by PMDC and is affiliated with Khyber Medical University, Peshawar.

Abbottabad International College of Dentistry can enroll 50 students in BDS.

12. Frontier Dental College, Abbottabad

Frontier Dental College is the dental section of Frontier Medical College. It is located on Mansehra Road, Abbottabad. It is recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission. FDC is affiliated with Bahria University, Islamabad.

13. Peshawar Dental College, Peshawar (Female Only)

Peshawar Dental College is the dental section of Peshawar Medical College. It is one of the best dental colleges in KPK. Peshawar Dental College is affiliated with Ripah International University, Islamabad.

Peshawar Dental College is recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission and can enrol 50 students in BDS every year.

14. Rehman College of Dentistry, Peshawar

Rehman College of Dentistry is considered the best college for Dentistry. RCD is located in Phase 5, Hayatabad, Peshawar. It is the dental section of Rehman Medical College.

RCD is recognized by PMDC and is affiliated with KMU. RCD can enrol 50 seats in BDS every year.

15. Sardar Begum Dental College, Peshawar

Sardar Begum Dental College is one of the oldest Private Dental colleges in KPK. It is affiliated with Ghandhara University, Peshawar. SBDC is recognized by PMDC and allowed to enroll 75 students every year.

16. Women’s Medical College, Dental Section, Abbottabad

Women’s Dental College is the dental section of Women’s Medical College, Abbottabad. It is recognized by PMDC and affiliated with Khyber Medical University. Women’s Dental College is allowed to enrol 50 students in BDS every year.
