Khyber Medical University Peshawar (KMU) Admission 2023-24

Khyber Medical University announced admission in MBBS /BDS 2023. It is also providing the best opportunity for all candidates who are interested in getting into the university.

Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar will conduct MDCAT Examination in KPK through ETEA. An important notification has been issued by ETEA regarding the time and format of MDCAT. As per the notification, the total time available for MDCAT shall be 3.5 hours. Previously, it was announced by ETEA that the time will be 3 hours which was against the regulations of PMC. It is, now, clear that 3.5 hours shall be available for MDCAT to solve 200 MCQs.

PMC has not yet decided on the merit formula of medical & dental colleges. The Standing Committee for Education had instructed PMC to change the formula and include 40% weightage of FSC Elective Subjects marks only.

The university comprises several departments, including the School of Basic Medical Sciences, the School of Dental Science, the School of Health Professions, the School of Nursing Science, the School of Paramedical Science, the School of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation, as well as the School of Public Health.

Applying for Admission to KMU into MBBS Degree Program

The KMC had been the center for applying for new admissions to all public medical colleges of the province in the past. Since 2018, the Khyber Medical University (KMU) has been in charge of inductions into medical colleges. This includes students from both inside and outside the country. 

Applicants who have qualified in the NMDCAT test organized by the Pakistan Medical Commission should apply to KMU for entry into medical colleges.

How to Apply for KMU MBBS & BDS Admissions?

Application for admissions will be done online via the KMU Admissions website. For a successful application, the following steps must be followed.

• Visit the KMU Admissions website.
• Log in to your account after creating one.
• Fill out your profile, contact information, and qualifications.
• Select the category under which you wish to apply i.e. Open Merit, Self Finance, FATA, OPF, Backward Area or Minority, etc.
• Download the challan form and submit your application.
• Payment can be made in any MCB branch on a challan form.
• In 48 hours, the fee will be automatically verified.
• Now, wait for the merit list.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria for KMC admissions. 

• FSc Pre-Medical or Equivalent.
• At least 60% marks in FSc/HSSC or Equivalent.
• At least 60% marks in PMC MDCAT 2023.

KMU MBBS & BDS Aggregate Formula

In this section, you will find the aggregate formula for MBBS BDS.

• Matric = 10%
• FSc/HSSC = 40%
• PMC MDCAT = 50%
