The Saidu Medical College is a public sector medical college located in Swat District, Pakistan, in Saidu Sharif. It was founded in 1998. On 26th December 1998, the first batch of the MBBS program began in the SMC.

From its inception, SMC was affiliated with the University of Peshawar, and it is now affiliated with Khyber Medical University. All departments at SMC are staffed by professionals.

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have passed the F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) Part-II or Equivalent Examination.
• A candidate must present an F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) Part-I Marks Certificate with a minimum of 60% marks attested by the head of his/her institution.
• It is a requirement that he/she submits a certificate from the Head of the Institute at which he/she is enrolled stating that he/she has appeared in the F.Sc. (Part-II) or Equivalent examination and awaiting the result.
• The candidate must have passed the F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) or equivalent examination with more than 60% marks (excluding Hifz-e-Quran).
• Applicants with domicile in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, AJK, or Northern Areas.

Hostel

In order to accommodate the students from abroad as well as from across Pakistan, hostels are provided on the college premises with a capacity of 400 students, approximately 150 girls, and 250 boys.

Hostel residency is a privilege, not a right, so students are offered accommodations. The hostel seats will be distributed to the deserving students upon availability.

The hostel is only open to students who are enrolled at the college. Once the student appears in the final Professional MBBS examination, they may not be permitted to stay in the hostel. In contrast, failed students who will appear in the supplementary examination may still stay in the hostel.

Examinations may apply for accommodation in hostels formally, but the availability of such accommodations and payment of extras as required will determine whether or not the seat will be assigned.
